"My name is Logan Ellison. I'm a private detective with a small practice in the city. I was on a case when it all went south. In the middle of a stakeout I saw something I never would've believed. I expected it would just be another trophy wife having an affair and all I'd have to do would be to bring the pictures back to her husband. About halfway through taking my pictures, the guy suddenly transformed into a f@$king werewolf.
Normally I'm unflappable. I've seen my share of bad things. For whatever reason the sudden appearance of a werewolf made me metaphorically shit my pants. I froze. It was only after my phone went off that I realized I still had my gun. It was in my pocket since I didn't think I'd need it on an observation job. The fog made my hands slippery, made me look like a damn rookie.
No sooner had I gotten it out then the werewolf jumped through the glass across the city street onto the twenty fourth floor fire escape I was sitting on. I admit it. I screamed like a girl and dropped my revolver just in time to watch it fall. He clung to the outside of the railing looking at me like I was a meal. Worse yet, I was a witness to what he was. I scrambled to my feet and scurried up the stairs to the roof faster than I've ever moved in my life.
I heard something clatter that I would later find out was my phone, and I got to the door to the stairwell just in time to slam it closed and lock it. Not waiting to see if it would hold, I dashed to the elevator and left as fast as I could. It was only after I got to my car that I felt the sting on my arm and the wet slick stain of blood. Teeth marks trailed down my left arm like a tattoo. I cursed.
I don't know how it happened, I didn't even feel it. Now I've got three problems. I have nothing to show my client, a werewolf is after me, and I've got a big bite on my arm. Well, shit."
Inspired by The Lycanthrope Club, here's the first new character of my upcoming werewolf story series, Blue Moon.

Caught your interest, eh? :) My current plan is to introduce the main cast one per week until I launch chapter one, and then work it into my rotation with my various other projects. I'd like to release some content online and keep some for when I get around to figuring out the whole self publishing thing, maybe it'll work, we'll see.
In any case, a short rundown. In a major city somewhere in the united states, a murder case kickstarts a chain of events that will change the were world forever. Three individuals have become infected with differing strands of the were infection. While each one attempts to keep their secrets, they must at the same time balance their human lives with their new afflictions. However, they are being pursued from three sides. The police are looking for the murderer, were hunters are looking for anything with a tail and two legs, and then there's.... ;) DUN DUN DUN.... (REDACTED).
It's a story about love, preconceptions, survival, and identity... ;) Plus a lot of action and suspense. :)

Could be good! I'll certainly give it a try. I found the fandom while looking for werewolf stuff in the early days of the internet so they always have a special place in my heart.
The Medievalist in me wants to write about a Knight Order like the Templars where all the members are werewolves, but other than the setting I don't have a story for it (or time really!)

I hope it is, I've got high hopes for it. I think I'm pretty good at coming up with compelling worlds and characters, and I always try to be different, seeking ways I've never seen it done before.
I know that I'm going to put a few nods to that sort of thing in the story somewhere, like when the new girls ask questions about werewolves, hehe.

It's my first attempt at werewolf/were creature fiction for a long time, but I'm really excited about it. I've got a three story arc planned, and I've got a lot of ideas for all three of them to keep folks guessing. :)
This character was originally planned to be the secondary protagonist, but she sort of turned out to be the best character to kickstart the whole story into motion. :)

Four problems. Maybe five. Don't forget about fleas. And leash laws!
I love what you've done with her so far. It's a really interesting hook for a story, and the art is fantastic. The shocked look on her face is, I must admit, rather amusing but also kind of touching. You never think this sort of thing is going to happen to you, do you? Though I'd imagine that extra speed and strength, and an immunity to ordinary bullets would come in hand in the life of a private eye. I've always had great love of werewolves, thanks in no small part to Terry Pratchett, and I'm really interested to see where she'll go from here!

Not to mention that showers will take so much longer in werewolf form. Oh well, at least she's smoking hot. :)
I'm kind of enjoying introducing the primary characters this way. It gives a glimpse of their personality and background and how they got involved. I almost waited until I had the story written to post a part of it as the description but this way I can post one a week until it's time for the story's release. Logan was inspired in part by a few things. I first pictured Abby as the main character, imagining Logan would be a bit more of a rogue, a trait that later got inherited by future character Vanessa. I'd pictured Abby advising caution and Logan saying "I know, I ignored you." After doing something reckless. While that line may still work it's way in, I was also inspired by Marvel's Jessica Jones, and both the gritty realistic feel as well as the dark hair and private eye job. After all, that gave me a way to get her into the story relatively quickly and set up the mystery/antagonist that runs the length of the first season. Plus I very much wanted for most of them for it to be a fish out of water story, and you don't really find out until season/book 2 when you meet Vanessa and a few other characters that show how deep they're in, and how different they really are from the rest of the were world. The third thing was that I liked how the main character in The Lycanthrope Club transformed and got to look at herself in the bathroom and kind of liked it. I sort of wanted a similar feel, though as evidenced by her face, she's a little surprised by it.
The whole thing about Logan's change is that even though she saw the werewolf change and knows she was bitten, she doesn't really believe it until she has her own set of claws, teeth, and a beautiful coat of ebony fur. Once she changes for the first time and starts to learn her new body's abilities, she falls in love with it. I haven't settled on all the rules yet, but the extra speed and strength she'll need to survive. ;) She can run on all fours if she wants to, something she'll do when she meets a mysterious male werewolf.
Not to mention that now she can hear much better and see much more acutely, also handy in her trade.
Terry Pratchett does werewolves?

Oh my, I can just imagine! You'd get through a bottle of shampoo per shower!
I like the idea of introducing the characters this way, too. That way, it kind of whets the appetite for the story and, with any luck, will drum up more interest in both it and anything you do with these characters in the future than waiting until the story was done would have.
I'm afraid I'm not really familiar with any of the things you've mentioned, like the Jessica Jones stuff or The Lycanthrope Club. I may just have to check those out, though! But it sounds like you've got a really strong character here, and it's interesting to see how a character can grow and change as you start working with them. As I think I've said, almost none of my characters ended up how I imagined they would when I started on them. But I think they're all much better than my original ideas, too, and it certainly sounds like Logan has come quite a long way. I really like the thought you've put into how being a werewolf will effect her, and even if you don't have all of the rules ironed out yet, it sounds like hers will be quite an interesting take on how someone adjusts to suddenly being a werewolf. And being able to run on all fours would be quite a lot of fun, I'd think!
He does. One of the fairly important characters in his books centered around the City Watch is Constable, later Captain Angua who is a werewolf and who uses her ability to great effect as a police officer. His novel The Fifth Elephant deals quite extensively with Angua's family as well, and really kind of fleshes out his take on werewolves. He also has a sort of reverse werewolf in one of his earlier novels Reaper Man, who spends most of his time as a wolf and is transformed into humanoid shape at full moon instead. He's a somewhat minor character, but I've always thought it was a fun idea.

Most likely she'll do most of her bathing in human form, to avoid the work that comes with a luxurious coat of black fur. :)
I'd had an intended order to go with the order they get featured in an episode/chapter, though number 3 didn't turn out as intended but it still works for a future storyline which has now slid to a different character, so I may have to post 4 and come back to 3, but all is good. Haha. So far I've finished 7 pages, and they're pretty good. :)
They're both pretty good, the former on netflix, the latter I have a link to the site somewhere and I think they are online for free somewhere else too but I don't know. Anyway, I know what you mean, it's always fun to have a story for how a character evolves through their journey from concept to creation. I love it when my muse gives me an inspiration, and it just fits so well into my world. I've already got a lot of ideas for the season two additions, a were horse and Vanessa, the enforcer... :)
The agility will come in handy considering what they'll have to face, and while some folks might not want to become werewolves, the characters in my series while they may not have chosen it, take rather well to it as it causes a change in their lives that may never have happened without it. Like real life, you don't choose everything, but you are affected by it all.
Do they spend a good amount of time in wolf form? I might have to check that out. You'll have to take a look at Abby, the next character in the lineup. :)

Logan's job as a private detective is associated with the sign of Scorpio or the eighth house because digging for evidence, searching for the hidden or unknown, or solving mysteries and crimes. Detective work is considered an eighth house oriented job. What is interesting about this is that Scorpio is also the sign of transformation like psychological or spiritual transformation but I discovered it also represents physical transformation like a prince turning into a frog, werewolf transformation (like what Logan here is experiencing) and ascension transformation. Some esoteric circles believe that when people experience a planetary ascension into a higher reality their bodies go through a physical transformation so their bodies can adapt to the higher density environment. Good character and good artwork!
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. In celtic astrology--the sign for scorpio is a wolf!

Originally Logan was supposed to be a second protagonist and the story was going to be based around my nurse, but as I assigned the needed storylines to each of my four main characters Logan had to take the role of main character. It ended up paying dividends as while technically it made it a werewolf novel (something I was trying to avoid as there are many), but still her role as an investigator will play a big part in the planned second installment.
