I'm just gonna repost what I had for the sketch, because it wraps this picture up pretty well;
In the Nexus City story mixed animals(grolar bears, wolfdogs, ligers, etc.) are treated really poorly. Mixing species in general is frowned upon. This is Elise, a grolar bear(polar bear/grizzly hybrid) and she gets bullied about it quite a lot at school. However she doesn't take shit from anybody and gets into a lot of fights. Being so large she ends up hurting he other kids pretty badly(hence why Autumn is looking sort of grumpy). Autumn interferes in this instance and tries to talk Elise out of her blind rage. Later on Elise ends up training with Chen to learn to keep her anger at bay, making her Chen's 4th student.
Also, I decided there'll be 6 main characters. Keegan, Chen, Autumn, Ryker, Elise, and Shelly(not redrawn yet, but I have drawn her ;D).
