The dance of my people by TheTiedTigress
A female salamander (Grenka) performs a cermonial dance in what is considered formal attire for salamanders. Due to the harsh volcanic environment cloth doesn't last very long, so leather and mail isn't just for protection in battle and chainmail is common in salamander clothing more so than leather because of it's durability and it can be turned into more elaborate attire.
It's not something that's usually seen by outsiders because of the homesickness and because nobody has seen a salamander city where this is common, and on the few salamanders that do travel and wear mail it's just considered as armor with unusual design by the other races.
