It's the Princess of Adorkableness! As far as the series goes, am alright with her being a princess even if the abrupt nature of the promotion and change into an alicorn was somewhat annoying (still loved the songs though), but I don't blame the writers, they really were under the impression that this may have been it for the show and wanted to wrap up Twi's storyline as everyone was sure her ascension was going to happen eventually. Just glad when it was discovered the show was to be renewed for another season that they were able to continue to develop Twi in her new role.

I remember when I first saw the pilot I immediately fell in love with Twilight and how cute her character was and still is. :)
I know that I realized a while back that at the end of the short third season with 13 episodes it would make 65, the arbitrary max for most cartoons, though I admit that while I don't know what kind of restraints they were under, it being the potential end would make sense as to why they promoted her, thinking it might be the end. I personally loved the song "What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me", though I would've preferred it be two episodes. If it's going to be the finale, borrow one of the other episodes and make it at least a two parter.
In a perfect world, and I realize that this is just me, but I would've had Sombra's rise be the whole season arc, with Twilight's ascension hinted at early and the Crystal Empire be a season long storyline. Maybe in the last three episodes have them have to work around the others talents.
I've always been a fan of shows like the X-Men and Legend of Korra/Avatar where they can do cartoons with long deep arcs, and I see that potential in MLP.
Anyway, just my ramblings. :)
