This was the result of inspiration coming from an oddly vivid dream I had last night. I wrote up most of it at work today and retyped it up just an hour ago.
It is actually the ending to a larger story (I imagine it is anyways, I certainly didn't write anything before this). John and Tess are brother and sister. Although it doesn't make specific mention of their race, I've imagined them all day as Tiger cubs. The people of Never Mind are all Humans.
I know the ending isn't that great, but I wasn't sure how to end it. I knew the generalities of what I wanted to happen. I don't think I put it into words that great though.
Comments, as always, appreciated.
(P.S. - Now with 99% less screw up! Thanks Kitten!)

I seem to be mildly reminded of Left 4 Dead... a bunch of my hallmates have been blabbering about it non-stop and something about this is reminiscent...
Quite scary by itself. I think the only confusing thing is the random townsperson in the second portion. I think I ended up just as clueless as John on that one '-.-
Weird... Firefox accepts "townspeople", but not "townsperson"...
Anyway, a nifty treat. ^.^

Really? Left 4 Dead? I still haven't gotten around to playing that. I was more inspired by Fallout 3 for this one then anything else. At least, I think I was. XP
And yeah, about the random townsperson (weird, you're right, firefox doesn't like it. XD). The Witch was basically letting the boy go, seeing as she got the one she wanted anyways. Since she and her power can't leave the town directly, she had to send the towsperson out.
Anyways indeed, thanks for reading my story. ^_^
