This is a design for a fancy version of the armband that my winged golden jackal 'sona Auric wears, the normal version of his armband can be seen here. This design was created by myself and CruzRobin with lots of back and forth Notes and edits. It is an optional design primarily intended for use in large and detailed artwork where the detail of the armband could be important. The picture at the bottom of Auric wearing the armband exaggerates the size of the armband so that the details can be seen. Here is an example of the armband drawn to scale: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12217197/
The armband design is based on Egyptian spiral armbands and the winged serpents/dragons (Coutal) from RPG's which took their inspiration from the Mesoamerican deity of wind and learning, Quetzalcoatl, whose name means 'feathered serpent'. The design is intended to be somewhat culturally ambiguous, with artistic aspects of Egyptian spiral serpent armbands, Asian dragons, and the Mesoamerican feathered serpent. The normal version of the armband design can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13674768/ but this fancy version was inspired by Cruz's artwork "Shadows of Latin America" here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11302221/
Note that for most of the armband the snake body has its belly towards the wearer's arm but the snake body twists just behind the wing to present a side view of the head and wing.
This can be seen in the artist's gallery at: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19289339/
