Background reason for the color choice.
A wizard that has a store that sells exotic magical creatures has experimented with putting spell runes on eggs. First test subjects were these dinosaurs since they were cheap to buy in the area. The enchanting worked and the dinosaurs have a unusual color and pattern that corresponds to the spell they are able to cast. Yet this batch was sold a few days after they hatched since the wizard wanted to experiment with a rare species to gain more profit.
