I like to pretend that anyone anywhere can just punch a hole into techno and the nanites will do the job of making things backwards compatible.

Actually! What you see there is a [very stylized/exaggerated] little ceratarges trilobite. but i draw trilobites exactly like isopods. XD they are THE ISOPODS OF DAYS PAST
My laptop is named Trilobite, the C: is "ceratarges", and it actually has an almost identical little ceratarges in white paint on vinyl film stuck to the front. :B

Even though it's a little OFF topic.
I've really been wanting some triops...
But Trek says we can't get any because
"We aren't allowed to have pets here" ;-;

I don't think it needs to exist, I play advance games as much as or more than DS games on my Lite, and I have no need for it whatsoever.
BUT. The camera is pretty cool and it's a cute little machine. And I DO know a lot of younger kids who only play DS games, so that might be where the market is.
Chances are I'll end up getting one just for kicks once they're obsolete and sold in bargain bins, like I did with the GBA Micro (which I never bought initially because I played GBC games on my Advance more than I played Advance games. There's a pattern here called "techno likes old games")

Remember the gameboy camera? I'm pretty sure it's an extension of that more than anything else, as well as a vehicle for gimmicky Eye Toy style minigame-games. Nintendo has been futilely playing with cameras for decades. I think the system as a whole is also basically another tendril of the Wii Experience rather than something that can stand alone.
