Most of the series' inspired by Polish/Ukrainian culture in general, but for some reason I remembered "The Cove" when I was working on sketches for this. So you might say that's the main motive here. That movie is hard to forget.

I LOVE this piece so much! I agree, the wings are fantastic, so much great texture in the overlapping feathers, the clothing folds, the scaly feet!
It also captures a very complex mix of emotions--a wistfulness, a sadness, a lonliness, perhaps? Perhaps remembering better times when the land wasn't soaked in blood--i love pictures that make you think like that!!
