There is the White Desert from one side of Two Mountains - this is the coldest place in the world, it is a vast plain. Why is it so cold here? The thing is in the wind: an incessant wind is picking up a monstrous speed because of the size of this plain, lifting the top layer of snow cover, in addition to snow there are also the smallest pieces of ice in the wind, which can seriously injure any living creature, except Ice Dragons, when the wind has strong gusts.
To protect the kingdom Askalar from the White Desert`s wind, dragons erected "ice shields". They are huge rocks of ice. As it turned out, it was quite effective way against the raging wind. It is because of "shields" life has become easier on the territory of Two Mountains .
At the first era all shields were the same size, height and width. But the first line more and more erased by wind and time, following them shields` line began to crack. The disappearance of the Ice Dragon has led to the fact that some of the shields worn off, the others splited, and the remaining rocks unable to restrain the all power of the wind from the White Desert.
Ice Dragon - the legendary and probably the most advanced creature ever existed. They came right after the Golden Dragon in order to help him build the warm city and to calm the nature of the North. These dragons are the first who indicated the boundaries of their territories, and come up with a common name for their possessions - "Askalar". It is through their kingdom began further colonization of the World, and the knowledge gained in Askalar helped in the development of cities, of agriculture, of the social order.
Ice Dragons - the only creatures that can withstand the cold wind from the White Desert. And all because of the fact that the dragon's blood has a very high temperature, it literally boils in their veins .. Outside skin is covered with small, but very warm fur and ice that never melt, and sometimes grows on the horns and spikes. The appearance of young and adult dragon is very unusual for snow areas - they are black wyverns with red heads. This is due to the fact that the Ice Dragon are the most dangerous predators in Askalar, and there is no need to hide, on the contrary, one can perfectly see a red head and a black body, so the victim has at least some time to escape. In addition to color, the dragons have spines on the chest, resembling paws with 2 fingers. These paws-spines help in the hunt for small creatures, as well as in build.
Than older becames the dragon, the more it is overgrown with ice and becames more white (simply became grizzled with pale red head). These features could help to determine the approximate age.
Unfortunately, the Ice Dragons were either exterminated or become extinct .. Noone already know the cause of their disappearance, but dragons are left, and there is no way to recover this species.
