That one bug that looks like a croissant that you can freeze
There is not enough fanart of the bug that looks like a croissant that you can freeze and use as a platform. I encourage everyone to do fanart of it, or the ones with the rocket butts.
Yes I know they're called rippers.

MY RUNNING TALLY:
Metroid II: Return of Samus. No timed escape sequence after killing the Metroid Queen. You just kind of wander back to your ship and then that's the game.
Metroid Prime: Escape sequence/Ridley Theme early in-game, but not at the very end though. Tallon IV remains intact.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: Defeating Dark Samus and AU-313 causes Phaaze to destabilize and explode violently, but there is no escape sequence.

Wait, what? No, dude, you blew up the Mother Brain and then you had to run up the elevator shaft platforms to the door at the top.
Super Metroid was very explicit about your return to Zebes through that same elevator shaft.
Same applies for Zero Mission; in fact you have to do -two- escape runs.

wait wait wait we're all getting confused. It's a matter of Escape sequences vs. planets blowing up.
Metroid 1: escape sequence? Yes. Planet blows up? No.
Metroid II: neither escape sequence nor planet blowing up.
Super: Both escape and planet blowing up.
Prime: Escape, no exploding planet
P2: Escape dark Aether., but no exploding planet.
P3: Escaping shit and an exploding planet.
Fusion: escaping BSL and restricted sector. Both blow up along with SR-388.
That one Other Game: stuff blows up and there is a timed escape, but not till the very very end.
Hunters: I think something blows up... isn't there a timed escape too?

Yeah... Rippers... and yet they don't rip. XD i'm kinda glad that the MP series didn't have the miles and miles of vertical tunnels that you had to jump from Ripper to Ripper in. That'd have really sucked. XP
What was the name of the larger ones with like, the 'rocket' on their back ends? Were those just bigger Rippers, or did they have a different name? *always felt Rippers were like, the Pupua stage of those things)

interesting. I always thought the Red Rippers were the older regular Rippers... and that the ones deep deep down in Norfair were like, made of solid BONE (cuz ya couldn't freeze them, though ya could use them as a grapple spot.). Oh wait, there WAS green ones too! XD Forgot about those.
OMG I just about pissed my pants I was laughing so hard. I was playing metroid Zero Misison for the classic funs on my DS while going through submissions, and I litterally just got to the part with the ice beam where you have to start freezing those guys for the first time! LMAO!!!
*would type more, but cannot type through the laughter*

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2466818/ I think my contribution is way too silly.
No! Fuck that bug! It was always a bitch and always bit me whenever I was jumping up the vertical corridors. Then it's like *bite* and then like FUCK OW! and I'd shoot it but NO! No they had to be pricks and not die.
That fucking changed when I got Screw Attack. It was also cool to not see 'em in the Prime games.
Hard to kill bastards.
