Swimming around in my mer from, I happened to come across some underwater ruins, and within these ruins was a strange device of unknown origin. The device was above water, so I had to haul myself out of the water to approach it. But the moment I touched the device a bright flash and I blacked out.

This would be the first step in gaining a new synthetic body

My biological body was converted to pure energy and data and uploaded into the device. The device then access a blueprint created from approx. 1389 years ago the machine started molding the chassis which would contain my new form, adjusting the outside appearance as a reference to my old biological one. This type of android is known as a Grav-Android. This body would be nothing but a torso, hands and feet and a head, with no limbs or neck to speak off. Instead, gravity orbs would serve as points where connects with the hands feet and head allowing them to be controlled. There is more information on how the gravity orbs work but data on that subject is restricted.

The machine carefully constructed the circuits for my new body, before covering it with thin yet durable plating, leaving openings on my torso and leg joints to maximize movement efficiency. Once my android body was finished, the machine carefully uploaded my digitized conscious into the completed chassis and, with it's task completed, beamed me outside. However, due to age, an error occurred, and instead of being beamed into a chamber to await my activation, I was dumped unceremoniously outside where I collapsed in a heap. Then I simple lied there as my system ran stress tests and diagnostics to prepare me for activation.

Approx. 135 minutes later, I awoke. My head felt woozy as if I were floating. I tried to get to my feat, but my body felt strange.. as if it were floating apart. Turning around I gasp in shock as I beheld my new form, a torso, trying to rise by pushing of ground with a hand that seem to have an invisible limb. The other hand seemed to be floating idly away while one foot was one the ground, supporting me "weight" so to speak, the other simply lied there on it's side. The shock of all this caused my torso, head, hands and foot to fall to the ground again.

As my lied there and took in my bizarre form, new information sudden was streamed into my mind, subconsciously teaching me how to control my new form. I learned I have become an android created a race that had died longtime ago. I tried to access more information from this race but unfortunately much of the data was corrupted and I could not learn anything about them.

My shock wore off and was replaced my curiosity. I was now interested in my new body and was determined to control my new body. Using my hands I managed to "push" my torso up so it floated above my feet, a invisible connection let my feet support my new center of gravity, sort of speak, my hands floated to my sides, connected to the gravity orbs located where my shoulders were.

Now for my head. Using the connection to the gravity orb located where my neck would be, I floated my head up above where it wold be supported. Now I was standing. Taking my first few steps were awkward, but I got used to it. My "limbs had a very long range of motion and I could move my hands, feet or even my head anywhere within that range.

I sat after getting the hang of walking, marveling at this new form. I don't when I'll get a biological form again, but for now, I could get used to this!

So... fun story, I originally was coming up for a little robot form for my dragon self, but then this popped into my head and... well I HAD to draw this. I cam across the idea when I was looking at  tysontan's work for reference and I saw his rabbit android character ( solarknight99.deviantart.com/a… ) and I thought the floating limbs were cool and wanted to draw a character with something like that. Except floating arms wern't enough so I want with floating legs too! Basically like Rayman. ^^;

And I gave this form to Solstice because ...well I've been feeling very Solstice lately >w<

I also wrote a story as well, cause I have some stories I want to write for Kib and figured I could do some practice. It's a little rough but I hope it's okay!
