The Bats are for the artist challenge that the Pirates are doing this AC. Last year we did the seven deadly sins and it was popular enough that we decided to go ahead and do the virtues next. We each took the opposite of our sin and since mine was Greed I got to do Charity. I decided to follow up with the bat idea. I figure after poor Mr. Greed Bat dropped all his fruits to try and get the last one, a second little bat picks up one of the fruits and hands it to him. What a nice friendly little bat.

What a wonderful picture, DN! You bring the Virtue of Charity across so well in this picture. If Mr. Greedy Bat isn't swayed by such an unselfish act, if he does not feel remorse at his own greed, then he has truly killed his conscience. I like to think that he finds his heart melting, and he offers the little bat on of his fruits in trade and thanks.
But then again, I'm sentimental sometime, and I like to believe that there's good in everyone. And that Virtue beats Sin every time.
