(new) Kyotidon Species Sheet [closed]
Look what's getting a little face-lift!
I've taken out trait rarities and adjusted some stuff but the info below is still mostly the same.
Kyotis are still a closed species. I know they aren't the most original concept out there but I still love them, so please respect that!
BASIC INFO
Kyotidon are rather curious creatures and very great at camouflage and adaptation. Most Kyotidon resemble what's in their environment - nature, objects, places. More recently, some Kyotidon have started to resemble human culture and ideas. Although, some still don't resemble anything in particular - having random fur patterns and colors.
Most are in the 5' to 8' height range.
They're obligate omnivores and enjoy a large variety of foods. They have a tendency to eat the same thing many times in a row, get bored, and proceed to eat something else many times - continuing the cycle.
Even though they are able to quickly learn and communicate with a variety of human languages, they prefer to roar, howl, grunt, and bark to convey ideas.
Kyotidon spend about 80% of the day sleeping. They prefer to nap in very warm places - usually in direct sunlight.
Kyotidon hatch from eggs, believe it or not. The mother can have up to 3 eggs at a time though it's much more common for them to have only one egg at a time. They are rather large in size. It is a shared responsibility of the parents to look after the egg until it hatches. Baby Kyotidons are called "chicks" and are typically about 2' to 3' tall.
LIL' BIT O' LORE
Kyotidon are a type of prehistoric canine that have existed for quite some time, though no one knows how long. No one even knows where they come from.
They've been very good at hiding away from humans up until about the 20th century when sightings were starting to be reported.
Some Kyotidon have chosen to continue to hide while others have decided to try and interact with humans. Kyotidon are surprisingly very adept in quickly learning and understand human languages, though many rarely use this to their advantage.
Generally, humans are very weary of the presence of these creatures. Tensions have been high for a while but there hasn't been any severe conflict... yet.
