Aurum - Midnight beast (aka Midbeast)
(Midbeasts are Semi-Open. you can make your own, but the design has to be approved by me. currently, no adopts are allowed to be made by anyone other than myself)
a bit about the species:
Midnight monsters (a.k.a Midnight Beasts or Midbeast)
are named simply for their nocturnal habits
while they are very much so nocturnal, it is not uncommon for them to wander about in dark and shaded places during the day as well.
it is, however, rare to see them out in the sunlight in broad daylight.
the most common time to see a Midbeast would be from dusk (when the brave or adventurous Midbeast would wander out) through the night hours (where they will walk freely where there is darkness) till dawn (again, when only the brave linger in the open)
Their eyes are made to see in the darkness as clearly as if it were day, though this detail does render them blind in the light. the dimmer the light, the easier it is for them to see. Looking directly into the source of a bright light would leave them incapable of seeing for hours. looking into the sun will render them blind permanently.
Midbeasts are Omnivores, favoring meat over vegetation (only resorting the the latter when meat is scarce)
they have also been known to eat humans if chancing upon them while hunting. for some reason though, they more often will eat an adult human rather than a child.
they have no natural predators to fear, save for humans that hunt them for varying reasons (as humans do) and each other, occasionally. for this reason, their fur and fur patterns can be any color.
Midbeasts are incredibly intelligent- the the point that, along with the natural guttural snarls and growls, they are capable of human speech, the language depending on the region they live.
Anatomy.
Midbeasts always have thicker and stronger front legs than then do back legs, used for digging, fighting, and anything that really requires strength.
All Midbeasts have 4 eyes, 1 mouth, 2 rounded cat-like ears, and 4 legs.
The number of Tendrils coming from the back of their head can vary. it says nothing of the ability or personality of the Midbeast by having more or less.
these tendrils tend to move slowly, moving on their own unless the Midbeasts intentionally moves them. the more agitated a Midbeast is, the faster they move, and a furious Midbeast will have lashing Tendrils.
These Tendrils cannot be cut off without intense pain, as they have nerves running from the head to the tip of each one.
the reason for these tendrils, and their use is unknown (but there is rumor that long ago Midbeasts were capable of entering the realm of spirits, using their tendrils to sense spiritual danger. if that was the case, then this is no longer so-)
Midbeasts have retractable claws except for their dew toe, where the claw remains permanently out.
They have three tails, One thicker, bushy tail one and two smaller tails on either side.
Their internal organs, blood, and the inside of their mouth glow with bio-luminescent light (though the intensity does vary between Midbeasts)
Their skin is translucent, though some Midbeasts have more transparent skin- allowing the vague shape of their organs and bones to be seen through the skin. Their fur is thick, though, and so most often neither the skin nor the glowing can be seen (though there is a rumor that brighter glowing Midbeasts have a faint glow about them due to the brightness of their light escaping their fur)
if shaved, though, you would be able to see the glowing of their insides through their skin.
if the blood of a Midbeast is spilled, it takes up to five hours for it to stop glowing.
(their saliva is also bio-luminescent, but much less so. something coated in their saliva will glow faintly in the dark for about 5 hours)
the biggest a Midbeast can grow is to the size of an Amur tiger
while the smallest they can grow to be is the size of a Bengal tiger.
Young/baby Midbeasts are born about the size of a housecat.
Extra
by nature, they have personalities and lives just as varying as humans.
some may be viscous, some may be docile, some may be creative, some may be apathetic, and so on.
They do nest, where they nest depending on the preferences of the beast. they will decorate their nests according to their preferences
(ex. with Bones, flowers, or random objects they come across and take a fancy to)
Most Midbeasts do have some sort of affection for human children. as viscous or scary they may seem to be, if a Midbeast chances upon a human child, they will often either nudge them out of their territory, or take them to their nest in an attempt to watch over them. This is the case with many Midbeasts, but of course, not all of them.
for this reason, some Midbeasts in ancient cultures were seen as a diety of children. the sighting of a Midbeast meant they were protected, and that their children would be exceptionally safe the night of the sighing. Which meant absolutely nothing to the Midbeast, as they proceeded to continue their lives with little regard to the practices of humans. Of course, this view of Midbeasts is no longer believed as humans became more skeptical and monotheistic.

1) Is this some creature you made up?
2) You spelled "vicious" wrong. The word "viscous" means thick and sticky.
3) I was on the facebook group page reading the rules and the fact that people can make their own design but it has to be approved by you is just ridiculous. The point of the furry fandom is individuality and diversity. You can't lord over people and tell them they can only have a character whose design YOU approve of.

1) yes, it is a creature i made up.
2) i apologize for the mistake, i'll have that fixed in a moment.
3) the whole point of the approval is just to be sure that the species sticks to the rules. its not a matter of "wow i dont like this design, so you cant have this" its just so i can look over and make sure the specific midbeast follows the rules, which on their own (i like to believe so, in terms of design) are pretty lenient. the thing i am trying to prevent is someone adding wings, spines, or anything that defies the anatomical rules of the midbeast.
its not so much an approval on the design as it is giving an "okay" on the fact that you followed the rules.
