..interesting question! ..he's probably be quite upset (and hide it well).. and then try to talk his way out of the situation. something like "congratulations, you passed the first test!"

I see, that is a reasonable and expected reaction I suppose... and if said person did not buy it or worse, proceeded to ( try ) kick seven shades of sugar out of him? I assume there are some sort of failsafes against against turnabout... right?

oh yes.. if Dr. Asmodeus can't deal with the situation himself, a few subjects might be deployed for 'help'. or a new bio-weapon might be tested in the office room..

and yes, due to.. the doctor's condition (which hasn't really come up in any comic yet) he is immune to most substances that effect organic matter.. so a mutagen or a sedative would prove ineffective on him.
depending on what's on hand, and how 'dangerous' the would-be patient appears to be, a choice would be made between a subject and a gas, or, in the worst case, a liquid or ooze that will fill the room (most effective but least preferable choice because Dr. Asmodeus likes his office and furniture and wouldn't want to constantly replace them)

Talk about a positive bedside manner, I bet all of Dr. Asmodeus's clientele would give him the shirts off their back if he asked politely! Loving the use of hypnosis to trick her into signing up for permanent side-effects.

back in the day, he used that technique to trick quite a few people into losing their soul.. ;)

I'll bet! Ensures his clinic never falls under legal scrutiny: every single volunteer "willingly" signed in triplicate, nobody can complain about the less....ethical experiments they might end up undergoing.
