Ghost of a Tale
Yeah I'm posting a screenshot, sue me, I'm tryin' to support this indie game so go look at it.
Relaxing Dragon taught me the futility of my everything when he pointed out that he had no idea what this game was even though I've talked about it quite a bit on my other account, sometimes over here, and on Twitter. I'll have to be more direct.
The game's called Ghost of a Tale. It's currently in development and yours truly has spent a lot of time giving the developers tips on where to find certain bugs and what not. In the game you play as Tilo, the cutest mouse in the history of gaming, a minstrel who has been jailed for refusing to perform for a king. Well actually it was your wife who did and now you're bustin' outta jail to go find whatever happened to her. Despite how unrelentingly cute everything is, the game incorporates some adult themes. Hangings, drunkenness, off-color humor, and there's even an erotic book lying around that you can read part of before Tilo refuses to read any further. It's mostly an adventure game centered around finding items for various quests, solving little puzzles, and hiding from Rat guards. You can hide Tilo in a basket. He sticks his head out and looks around. It's basically the best thing ever. Scratch then. When you spring, he goes on all fours. THAT'S the best thing ever. You find various costumes you can put on which have differing benefits. The one you see Tilo wearing above is the Guard costume which allows him to be disguised as a Rat guard because the rats are idiots.
It's currently available for early access on PC on Steam and on GoG.com as well as through the website itself. They're working on bringing it to Xbox One and maybe PS4 when it's finished.

It's mostly being developed by one guy. I follow him on Twitter. He's definitely a nerd. And French. Or at least speaks French. Anyway, the game is a charming little adventure and I can't wait until it's finished.
