Speedpaint of Quint. Funstuff. Done in a mammal/vertebrate surfeit streak.
I'm seeing these bold jumping spiders everywhere this month, at least 8 of them in the house, most of which I put outside. One lives on my bedroom windowsill and eats any flies that come in, and another stays above the kitchen coffee pot and observes whoever comes near it. They are the best mosquito/fly control ever, don't make webs, plus they are adorable.
Honestly spiders rock. I do not give a damn if people illogically fear them despite how cool they are, nor do I want to hear about that lame overplayed phobia every freaking time I post one. Goddamn. : p

They are fascinating, definitely. I appreciate the job they do. And I'm glad they're never really inclined to climb on me >.> Little green spiders don't seem to care and like to startle me. Any bug or spider crawling on me is not allowed, especially ticks @.@
But jumping spiders, they can look intimidating but they're not. They're sweet

Didn't they actually do that on Mythbusters? Either it was a fever dream or I remember the elephant actually was freaked out by a mouse (but it was a zoo elephant so it might have been slightly insane).
So anyways, you know about my stupid phobia but this IS well drawn if nightmare inducing.

Spiders do scare the crap outta me, BUT!
There are some that I like. My aunt and uncle had a rose tarantula that was pretty cool. And you know those teeny, tiny like sub-1mm spiders that you get sometimes? (They jump about, but I am not sure they are 'jumping' spiders)
Those are neat!

Quint is just so darn awesome. Darnit! I love him so.
I'm going to have to get you to draw my spider guy one day. He's pretty much the same body-type as this version of Quint. (not forgetting Quint's spider-taur/drider layout).
And no, I didn't copy Quint, nor do I think you copied mine. Even though when I showed Quint here to my friends, they seem to think one or the other has happened. :P It's just a good, logical spider design!

This form feels a bit more plausible, and came up with it with no influences. The other one I do a bit different than the common taur version, as the torso is stretched to more human form and pedipalps become arms in my version, as they have a similar function in real spiders. In the actual taur version, they simply put another human torso on top of the spider head area.
Oh, certainly, I know. I just said 'taur', as it gets the message across. I know your's is more complex than just slapping a humanoid (or just plain human) torso onto the spider's head area. I like the idea you had with the pedipalps, as well.. although I prefer having them remain as cute little waggling limbs next to the mouth. :}
p. audax !
This body structure is an interesting departure from your previous images of him, but just as cool. His whole head is just great, the way his palps are positioned almost evokes large earrings or sidelocks. The use of plants is awesome :3
Don't forget that jumping spiders pretty much never bite humans! They're about as harmless as wild invertebrates can get, and adorable!

Best. Spider species. Ever.
Awesome job on this, you captured their natural cuteness
I had a pet female bold jumping spider once for about a year I'd think-she was preggers at the time I got her, didnn't know until she finally laid her egg sack :'D When that thing hatched, I had to leave it outside to let the hundreds (if not thousands) of little babies out D8 It was pretty cool, though the momma ended up leaving too, but it was alright with me :3
Was still a fun experience.

Yeah I never get the unnatural phobia, spider's are awesome, there like natures tanks. You have you panzers the tarantula, Your little jumping spiders... aerial interception APCs. Insects are just nature little organic machines.
And I love what you've done, it's the first good looking spider; that appeals to the eye, but still doesn't lose is anthropological nature in lue to anime characteristics.

It's not that I mind spiders, it's that I mind spiders who are going to be on me. And it's not that I mind spiders being on me, it's that I'm afraid I'm not going to notice and squoosh one on me and/or trap it in my clothing and get bitten. If they'd just ask permission, I'd be fine. Of course, if they mean to bite me to begin with, that is also not okay. Oddly, the bigger the spider, the less I mind them - tarantulas are awesome. Quint, he would be my bestest friend.
I've had spiders that were quite content to leave me alone - one used to live by my door in my dorm, which had an exterior room door. As long as she was content to sit there and eat whatever wandered in, I was content to leave her alone, sweep up the carcases under her corner, and take her egg sacs outside (because while I can provide gainful employment for one spider, I really doubt I could do so for several hundred).

This character is just awesome, and very well constructed. Looks quite plausible for a humanoid mammal/arachnid hybrid. ^_^
Heh, if my budget allows after next payday, maybe I should commission you for a suntiger anthro. ;)
(Tough originally I had no idea that my name was shared by a type of spider).
And yes, arachnids are awesome. ^_^
I admit I'm a bit leery of have them actually walking on me but I love observing them. And as a bonus they eat bugs.

Hey, if you like P. audax and other jumpers, you'll probably like this professor at UMass Amherst:
http://people.umass.edu/ejakob/index.html
I got a walking tour of her laboratory, when I applied there (unfortunately she didn't have any funding to support another student). It was just... it was like walking into a candy-shop where the candy doesn't make you feel sick after eating a lot of it.
tl;dr science has sex with your brain
