Well I've gone paintballing and if you are interested you should know a little bit:
1. Its physically demanding, so prepare for sore muscles later
2. bring lots and lots of water.
3. Bring a light towel to wipe out your mask. Again, its exerting so your goggles might fog up depending on the mask you got.
4. If you head to a facility that allows your own personal clothing, a heavy hoodie is what I prefer over a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up underneath (probably why I get so exhausted xD) That and work-style jeans. Getting hit isn't as painful as you think. Welts don't generally happen unless it hits skin or you're wearing thin clothing. Wear fingerless gloves too; I've gotten shot in the back of the hand before (again, doesn't hurt too much if you have clothing between you and the paintball)
Last but not least,
5. Have fun and don't worry about getting shot! Its part of the game and so the less you fear it the more fun you have leading up to that moment - that is if it even happens at all! (I don't know you, you could play like a navy seal for all I know :O)

I've only gone a few times, but my first experience I over-prepared in the armor aspect by wearing a pretty heavy winter coat in the summer and two pairs of pants, jeans with cargo pants over them xD I ended up almost getting heat stroke because I totally forgot to hydrate and EAT.
Since then I've learned how little protection you'd actually need, as I stated above.
Also the only place I've gone does scenario play (zombies, terrorist attack, bomb defusal, etc.) and also has different maps, one in particular is a recreation of Call of Duty: Black Ops's Nuketown! Nothing is more fun than sneaking around the building as I do in the game, run upstairs and end the entire enemy team! :D (I may or may not play like a seal >w>)
With a little practice, I'm sure you'll do fantastic!!

Well see, in the USA you have paintballers which play on a pro level, they are actually getting payed, just like in football for each match they win they get a sum of money.
Netherlands not so much, a trophy is all you get.
I however advice not to wear a hoody or atleast don't put the hood over your head as it will obstruct the airflow to the goggles. Most goggles have a mesh at the topside of the visor which allows the visor to get air so it doesn't fog up. If you wear a hoody it sometimes (not always) obstructs this mesh and it will fog up causing you to loose sight. Can be very annoying. With cold weather a hoody is fine. Warm weather not so much.
In warm weather you don't want to wear a thick material as you need air to cool yourself down otherwise a heatstroke can occur, and the last thing you want to get is a heatstroke in a paintball game. (can be quite dangerous but it also doesn't happen that often. I myself atleast haven't seen anyone pass out because of the heat though I have seen people going down due to their body can't cope with the pain.)
I would love to invite you (Dracky) sometime to our field but well, it's quite a drive.. (~170 Km = 2 hours drive)
Just message me if you want to play sometime. I maybe can even come towards a field near you, although I don't know about a field up north..
Oh and it can be very expensive but it can also be quite cheap actually. depends on how much money you want to spend really.
Just to put it into perspective, tomorrow I can play for 40 euro's (1 box of 2000 paintballs) together with another 1000 I have around means I can play for a day.
Water, exactly that fluid, quite useful always bring something to drink with you. Water works best, don't bring cola with you, it tends to work in the opposite way.
Oh and Smartielion, Doesn't matter how tough you are, Paintball is a sport which everyone can do.
I myself am a pretty good example, I can't take pain and if I see blood I pass out and yet I play paintball.
Age doesn't matter too, We have people which are 18 but we also have people playing which are 52 years old.
The picture itself is obviously very awesome.
May will look into commissioning something again but then a bit different from this.
