I'd say the gun wins. One shot=instadeath. Sword takes more time to make a slash.

Depends on where you shoot and where you cut. Shoot your hand, not much is going to happen. Cut your throat, wrist, inner-thighs, or stab a blade through the torso in certain spots, and you die. Either fast, or slow. Might take more time to make a slash, but look at how much distance 1 swipe covers, not to mention not needing to reload. A bullet-less gun is alot less of a threat then a sword no matter how you look at it >.O Not sure how many times you shot a gun at a distance, but anything further then ~3 yards and you need to start adjusting for speed of the target, wind, etc etc.. and that all depends on what kind of gun you have. .50 Cal Magnum will make a decent sized hole, but a 22 wont do much damage at all.

Good point, but I'm talking about the situation in the picture. Assuming the gun is loaded, the gun would kill faster than the sword would.
