..Trawn will probably win, unless Rio will have some very good officers to help her. She herself, to be honest, is more of a figurehead than an actual commander. She can inspire people to follow her to the end of the universe, but she is very impulsive and impatient.

Heh, everyone thinks that she is going "Objection". :B Though originally I wanted to go for that joke, but decided not to do it.
As for the weapon choice, she should have an automatic pistol of some sort in a holster on her right hip, but you can't see it here. Besides, since she would be commanding a battle from the bridge of her spaceship, the weapons serve a purely ceremonial purpose. But when Rio goes into battle herself, she would use anything she has at hand. She is a combat pragmatist, and she is quite skilled with nearly any imaginable weapon, from combat knives to swords, from handguns to railguns to KillSat targeting lasers. Though she was originally brought up and trained to be a perfect soldier, so it should not be all that surprising.
