As he took me by the hand
And tried to understand
[Non-Canon]
"When you're born without sight, being blind isn't so bad." It was a sentence Kaitii had grown accustomed to saying. She was often asked if it "sucks" or "how can you stand not seeing?." Without sight, your other senses are heightened. The Umbreon could hear an apple drop from a tree a mile away, sniff out the freshest apple, and always knew how to feel for the ripest apple. She was able to live alone and live happily. There was one thing she was never able to understand, however. Ever since she was a young Eevee, she could feel it. The unmistakable touch of fur against her body ever so lightly caressing her before disappearing. Before she felt the touch she could hear light footsteps approaching. They used to scare her when she was younger, she lived in such a closed off area that the other inhabitants knew she was blind and knew better than to approach without declaring themselves. She had asked around, if anyone was responsible for it, but to no avail. Sometimes though, the sensation wouldn't appear for days, weeks or even months. The longest time in between was a year. She had come to memorise the scent the fur carried with it, and even began to take it as a sign of comfort. She didn't know who or what was doing it, but it wasn't malicious, and she could swear at times it was leading her. She stopped trying to understand.
What she would never know, is that she was being comforted by herself, or rather, a future incarnation of herself. Eri has a gift others of his time were also bestowed with, the ability to time travel between his past lives. He didn't particularly care about his past lives, and time travel itself was tiresome, but he happened to come across a past life that was born blind. Curiosity got the better of him, and he spent time around Kaitii. He just couldn't understand how someone who couldn't see could live contently, happily even. The first time it was accidental. He just wanted to see how close he could get to her before she noticed. His tail brushed against her, and coupled with the sounds of his paws on the grass, she understandably freaked out. It became something of a game for him, try to touch the Eevee without getting caught. Down the road the game turned into a legitimate desire to be near his past life. They had never spoken a word, but he felt so attached to her in a way he couldn't describe. As the years passed they never spoke. They evolved and his visits became more frequent. He felt like he was responsible for her evolution, like they had a real friendship.
The simple game of touch and go long gone, Eri's tail would protectively, gently curl around his precious Umbreon's head. Together the two would walk in silence. Without words, the two have accepted this as their own special love. Eri finally understood how one can find happiness without sight or even words.

Honestly I hate world building lmaoo I mostly write/roleplay my fan characters, mostly The Elder Scrolls. The only character of mine that I like is my dragon because she doesn't speak/understand much human languages. But overall I don't really like writing about or developing about my own original characters idek.
