NEW CHARACTER: Living Nightmare Fallen Guardian Koshmar
He had to stop, he was too tired to run and was loosing blood fast. the swamp was deep and thick slowing his already pathetic run to a near crawl. He could hear Silver Knights not too far off and began to panic and run only to collapse into the trunk of a rotting tree as they slowly caught up to him.
'I can help yoooooou, I already promised yoooou are safe in my doooomain. Help me rise aneeeeew and watch these foooools perish... Withoooout me you will loooose yooooour life and I will return yooour booody tooooo my earth as is naaaaature.
That voice, the voice like the creaking of an old tree. The spirit hadn't lied he was still safe and this fetid poisoned swamp was keeping him from harm. Even in the temple he could feel the spirit in there with him, waiting, watching knowing he'd get back out into his swamp. He knew he shouldn't. This thing was old and bitter, he could feel it in the quivering muck and in the howling wind. The knights were there and he started to panic, as he turned to run a branch caught his pants, almost like they were reaching for something, and he stumbled. As he went to dislodge himself the old rabbit doll fell out of his pocket, it looked right at home in the mud, rotten and torn like this place. Forget giving it rest! They wanted him to make them a monster, he'd give them a living nightmare.
Nix turned and faced the twelve knights, their armor covered in mud and debris from the mash, eyes full of fear and hate and panic he tossed the doll into the water between them into a trail of his own blood and raised his hands. No spell was needed to summon an entity, he had one. No contract was needed to establish, he had one. No vessel needed preparation, he had one. All he did was open himself up to let the ancient energies of this place flow and utter a cure. "DIE! DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE! FEED THIS LAND YOU POISONED AND KNOW ENDLESS SUFFERING! YOU WANTED A MONSTER? I GIVE YOU MY NIGHTMARE, KOSHMAR!"
Commander Sigmar shot Nix through the shoulder, pinning him to the tree and staining it red. He howled in pain but began to laugh as the wind fell silent and the water still and the knights advanced, all but two in the rear. They struggled to even move and then suddenly they were gone, pulled into the three feet of water without a trace except for a loud splash. They all turned in time to see massive roots sprout and begin coiling around each of them. Most cutting and fighting for their lives, as one was pulled apart and limbs sinking into the mud another stopped and began screaming in horrible agony. Blood flowed freely from his joints and gaps in the armor as leeches, black as night, poured out of his face plate.
A loud deep laugh that seemed to echo from the very swamp itself began as the shallow waters heaved upwards. The rotten abomination rose revealing a grinning rabbit with empty eyes, ears weighed down not with mud but massive hands at the ends flexing and stretching with new life. They rest on the surface as a massive arm shoots out and thuds down pushing the rest of the massive rabbit up like a gigantic ghoul rising from a feeding. The creatures stained fabric skin seemed to crawl a wriggle as thick ooze began to drip from the grinning mouth and empty eyes. The knights shuddered in disgust at the unclean creature as leeches began to fall out from all the holes and torn seams.
One Knight charged and was crushed like a pop can by the ears as his spear ran right through. It pulled the spear out and with flawless execution tossed it, impaling a knight through his helmet. As one of the remaining knights dropped his weapon and began to flee the earth shook and the unfortunate knight was impaled and left hanging around a spike like root. They all charged the creature each taking position around it and fighting like their live depended on it. Eventually one broke away and charged Nix, yelling and aiming to kill. Barely a foot away there was a loud tear followed by a sickening wet crunch. The creatures left side, where its arm would have been, tore itself open a a great black arm shot forth. It stretched back closing the distance in a second to grab the knights head and crush it leaving the body to stumble and fall. The writhing arm swung back around like a whip smashing into the Commander and throwing him against a tree. The remaining three did not last long as they were crushed against one another and drowned in the mud and they were pulled from their armor by writhing hungry roots.
Sigmar could only watch in horror as his men drowned and the beast walked over to him, seemingly unhindered by the muck. It placed the black arm on his exposed skin and he screamed in pain as it broke apart into hundreds of leeches that burrowed into his flesh and devour him from the inside out. The now living corpse slowly sank into the water and the fifteen foot creature turned its attention back to a panicking Nix trying in vain to unpin his arm but not having the strength. It pulled the bolt free easily and firmly grasped his shoulder and neck stopping the bleeding. It bent down and wiped blood and mud away from his face as it smiled at him as everything went black.
'Yooooou are safe. Nooow little ooone, let me see toooo yoooour woooounds.'
