Ahh! He's the same size as Zyn, Rain's associator wolf. http://vilous.net/wiki/index.php?ti.....in-and-Zyn.png
Thank you!!! I love my sergal so much ^^
Thank you!!! I love my sergal so much ^^
Actually not at all. But it was a good try! I am cerulean, ivory and I have markings. I am Western and Southern. My tail is different and I have magenta and blue eyes. I would like to advise you that when people compare my character to theirs/someone else's it is almost insulting. People will generally say it with disgust or the intent that I have copied them. I assure you I've never seen your sergal before I created mine.
Careful when you say such things to people. Very few like to hear "you look like me!". It can be considered a challenge that you are accusing them of copying or stealing your design. If you merely find it an interesting coincidence, then do what most people do when they see someone wearing the same shirt as you: just say "hey, I like your taste in sergal designs *winks*", or nothing at all.
No one says it about the albino sergals, or the black and white sergals. It seems to only be the blue ones. At a glance even our icons look dramatically different. You'd be in closer relation to Soul, not me. And even then Soul still looks different. And no offense, but doesn't it seem like characters deserve more than a glance? Because at a glance every sergal looks like every sergal unless they are wildly uncanon.
forgive me for the interruption, but i dont think pasha is the kind of person who love to insult or copy your character, i think the point is. He was just trying to say that your character and his character are familiar , i believe there are alot of people who choosed to be a teal sergal, or whatever color they want, like black, or black and white, there are alot of sergals in furry community, i think there are some people who took almost the same color as yours Luci .
I don't know them... and you would probably feel the same way if you had been in my shoes. I am not insulting them, but I am asking to not be compared by a glance. I am told almost on a weekly basis that I have copied this sergal and that... And considering I had just joined the Vilous fandom and created a sergal a little while ago it's pretty insulting when I don't even know the sergals they are speaking about. The issue is there are a lot of people who turn it into a foul and petty thing to be similar to someone else. And I'm sick of people being nasty to me about it. I'd love to talk to Pasha separately but bridges will be hard to mend if these others are friends ripping my reference sheet apart.
So you have a common sergal fur color, someone who shares the same fur color as you compliments you. You get really defensive and go on to not only be racist but to insist that you're the original one and he's the one who is copying someone.
Alright lets go through your perfect example of an OC then since it's so squeaky clean. First of all at no point or place in this post do you reference the original creator of the sergal species. Secondly you copy one of the more notable sergals of the group's own canon by including your own Associator and in your own words "Ahh! He's the same size as Zyn, Rain's associator wolf. http://vilous.net/wiki/index.php?ti.....d-Zyn.png" So good job being original there. Fairly frequently used fur pattern and you have your tail fluff also colored. That's been done before. Ear notch probably from what i have to guess is "battle damage" Very original. a Bite scar that somehow shows up on your fur. Unnatural eye color. cerulean, ivory, that's Teal and white. *slow clap*
How bout you check yourself before you get the entire fandom pissed off at you and maybe learn to take a compliment.
Also any time you have to say "No offense, but" you're about to offend them.

perhaps had they not cast the first stone then the terms no offense would not be necessary?
i will give you the point of common color, shades of blue because they tend to be popular.
It can be rather insulting to anyone to compare your character to theirs and say they are the same. it is almost borderline and accusation of copying in most cases, however, even myself being partially colorblind can see blatant differences in the color.
Having an associator is a common thing as far as vilous goes, however, she has never given him a size reference nor comparison to Zyn, so get your facts straight buddy :O
as far as the markings go, you obviously dont look at a lot of sergals..... there are standard patterns then variations on those patterns, rarely is the keel colored most of the people tend to leave the leg and elbow fluff alone. The tail end being a different color is not uncommon i will give you that.
Scars and such also add variation and flavor to the character's story. It adds depth to the character and visual interest, you dont typically get scars from sitting around doing nothing, so the character has lived some life; and i know for a fact that the scars also parallel scars the creator has in person. (believe me i have seen her naked plenty of times :D)
Do we need to divulge how unoriginal horned sergals or sergal dragon hybrid's are all a dime a dozen, let alone being black and white.
If you seek to condescend someone who has put more effort into their character then say a black and white horned sergal, which if i remember correctly those exact horns can be bought on the second life market place, then so be it; or shall we walk about our merry way and realize that jumping up to defend someone, after the fact, who had meant no offense and clarified this, to only farther the conflict in which you had no place, in the first place ?

or perhaps you read to far in to things and see them as a condescending when it is not ? perhaps then you insult someone while digging to deep
This being said, it is over and done. it has nothing to do with you let the 2 people who had the misunderstanding communicate, as opposed to attacking one side without getting the other side's story

Welp, clearly I'm not done here. Lets go down the line shall we?

I can understand where you're coming from here, however Pasha was pointing out similarities only, Your "mate" was the first to think that someone was copying someone and in one post not only started the fight but established an air of what i can only describe as 'Eliteism' with her word choice. and i quote, "I would like to advise you that when people compare my character to theirs/someone else's it is almost insulting" which can be interpreted as "i'm clearly the best here"
i will give you the point of common color, shades of blue because they tend to be popular.
Thank you. Out of the original fur color choices, the tealish/blueish colors are common.
It can be rather insulting to anyone to compare your character to theirs and say they are the same. it is almost borderline and accusation of copying in most cases, however, even myself being partially colorblind can see blatant differences in the color.
It's only insulting to people whom are overly narcissistic. Maybe if they were a bit more open to other people and the possibility that someone could like the same colors and same designs, they would understand that there is a finite number of possible changes you can make to something in order to be 'unique' and 'original.' unfortunately your "mate" chose the "I'm better than you" approach and started this war of words.

according to the time stamp, 5 months ago she replied to Alichart with : "Ahh! He's the same size as Zyn, Rain's associator wolf. http://vilous.net/wiki/index.php?ti.....d-Zyn.png" so in her own words GAVE A SIZE REFERENCE AND COMPARISON. (did you even read it?)

Ah Assumptions. lets start out by saying you don't know what i do, don't pretend to. Just immediately assuming that I'm just some jackoff who joined because sergals are cool and i don't know anything about them, or just live in my own little world of ignorance. You're very wrong. For your information, i'm part of a large group of sergals that incorporate both canon and non-canon designs. We have not only sergals from all different regions but we also have nevreans, ugunders, and a couple talyxian stalkers. I know my canon, our group knows it too.
Scars and such also add variation and flavor to the character's story. Yes thats basic character building. And yes that's how scars happen. Duh. i was pointing out that her character choices portrayed in her OC are not the end all be all of "this is mine and only mine" because again, these choices are Finite and you can expect some similarities between all the different races and species.
Do we need to divulge how unoriginal horned sergals or sergal dragon hybrid's are all a dime a dozen, let alone being black and white.
Maybe i like dragons, you don't know. Maybe there's a reason I picked it. You don't know. Maybe there's a deeper reason behind it and that's how I chose to design my character, based off my likes and my own past. Wow doesn't that sound familiar, almost like you said it. HUUHHH... also yes you are color blind, I'm grey and white.
I'm not going to pretend to know how much effort, or lack there of, either of you put into your sergals. But clearly you're going to assume more here so lets shut that down. I spent the better part of years deciding and evolving as many of the design choices of my sergal. Using what I learned with color theory, studies of luminescence and reflectivity of color choices and combinations. Along with the basics of Contrast and complimenting colors. Along with my own tastes developed the Grey and white outcome. It took quite a while. And now my fursuit looks great with it because i put in some effort. Now i'm not saying that you or your "mate" didnt. but Here you both are now "high horsing" your way around this comment section, pretending that the rest of us are morons who don't understand the basics of design. Well you're wrong. And yeah, maybe you can get those horns on the SL marketplace. Did you ever stop to think that maybe i chose those particular horns because i have a extensive SL presence and have spent quite a lot of time on there? Hmm? or is that impossible? And how is it i don't have a place in this conversation when your "mate" directly attacked and insulted my friend and I, under my own choices, came to point out that your "mate" is not only wrong, but going on with this "i'm better than you" mentality that wreaks out of everything she writes? So to convey your displeased attitude with someone else helping with this 'war of words,' you step in and fight her battles for her.
Way to go.

i find it kind of funny that you are fighting pasha's battle for him by attacking a complete stranger ? ....have you ever taken a peak at Mick and Kiki's thought on people comparing sergal's ? seeing as you're so in tune with the community this should be second nature to you..... you are some kind of special
Who are you and why do you care so much to say such things on someone's art? I can understand some of your opinions here, but a couple things you got completely wrong. I could list them, but it doesn't really matter. Your statements here were pointless and obnoxious and as far as I'm concerned hold no merit or deserve further discussion.
See, it's statements like "good try guy :v" that make you both sound so condescending. Guess you really are made for each other. Well I'd love to stick around and argue with a couple of narcissistic hypocrites with literacy problems, but I have better things I can be doing.
Next time both of you get involved in a battle of wits. Don't come unarmed.
