This painting, though similar to my other rooster portraits, is at the same time different. It is in memory of Zeik, the araucana rooster, who died April 25, 2008, around 6:30 pm. His death was unexpected and mysterious – he was young, had no illnesses, and had no apparent injuries. We loved him and this is in his memory.

yep-no roos in the city limits ( i SO wish I lived in the country-but we got my Grandmother-in law's house which is in the city-otherwise we'd be stuck in a tiny apt). I love all my ladies I should really try and paint them someday-they are a small but very diverse flock :3
