Wanted to upload one more work-in-progress pic, one of a bunch of WIP pics I have.

I was drawing a front view of my yinglet self, "Matriarch"... (Patriarch)... something-or-other! I wish I didn't suck at coming up with names. It's especially difficult naming something I want to use as my avatar. Anyway, I gotta broaden the shoulders a bit, but otherwise, he's turning out nicely.

I still like the idea of him being the extremely unusual male "matriarch" under some unusual circumstances, but I'm still working out the rest of his story. Short of it is that he was raised in a far off land, taught a lot by humans, had something happen and came back to the Heart of the World region in Valsalia's tales, then wandered the lands for some time between enclaves trying to find where he belongs, and eventually ends up as "Matriarch" of a small enclave in a wooded area where he passes on his teachings and helps rebuild the dwindling clan. At the moment, in my mind, he's "Matriarch" of a small forest enclave, and I have some ideas of how this enclave would differ in culture from the ValSalian and grasslands enclaves... but this could change. I'm still trying to fully design him, too... and come up with a name I'd like.


Also, I just learned (or confirmed to myself) that the term "Matriarch" is specifically a female head of a clan and "Patriarch" is specifically a male head, but I needed some way to differentiate between the leading figure in the enclave and the Patriarchs that I see as the council of an enclave... so for now, I'll just use the term "Matriarch" as the leader of an enclave, since they are the lead figure. I dunno... Again, WIP. Suggestions for stuff helps me think.
