Yesterday at 9 PM, Rocky took a bad fall. In a freak accident, he twisted just the wrong way as he came down and broke his left leg. He's such a strong, athletic dog, it surprised all of us, and he's so tough, he didn't give us any indication that anything was wrong until we saw that he still wasn't putting any weight on leg this morning. We figured he had sprained it because he was allowing us to move it and wasn't screaming in pain. When he wouldn't get up, we took him to our vet.
He has a spiral fracture that's going to cost 4 to 5 thousand USD to fix. We don't have this. I'm turning to you generous furries for help. If you can spare anything, no matter how small, at this point, every dollar helps.
If you all can help, we need to cover the initial treatment down payment ASAP so we have at least a little time to try and scrounge together the money for the other half, however much it is. With any luck, it will be closer to the low end of the estimate, and doesn't go higher than the high end... but bad luck got us in this situation in the first fucking place, so we'll have to wait and see. This time of year, I know money is tight, but literally anything helps when a bill is this steep. We just can never seem to catch a break.
The paypal email you can use if you want to help is kinojaggernov[at]hotmail.com please include your user name!
I'm setting a final goal of $2000. That'll almost cover the initial down payment at least, and if we can reach that, I'm going to offer this as a community thank-you:
I will resurrect Sketch Club weekends for 2 months!
That's right, for 2 months, I will dedicate 12 hours a week to free art raffles to anyone who comes by the Sketch Club streams; one on Friday evening (7 PM EST ish), two on Saturday: one at 9 AM EST for my many European fans, and the other in the evening (7 PM ish) and a final one at 1 PM EST on Sunday. Same deal as before; I choose the pose, you hit me with a ref, I work my runkle off to complete a pic within the stream time 3 hour time limit with full color. The raffles will be open to the entire public as a community thank-you, though actual donors get an extra chance to win.
I'll keep you folks posted about the final cost of the procedure and will post updates on the donation drive. If you can't help, please signal boost this post!

did you check around at the other Animal Hospitals? Maybe another will be cheaper or at least have a available payment plan for you, I know when my Rottie/Sheppard Mix got hit by a car and broke his rear hock, I couldn't afford it either, but one animal clinic allowed me to make payments to them via post dated checks. It's always worth a try.

Gonna repost this, but in the meantime, check in on Care Credit, which MSU's VMC works with and can handle up to 60month financing at little or no interest.
For those wondering, MSU is about the only place that can handle this kind of complex break (which will require pins and possibly a rod) and their work is top notch, though quite costly.

I've made a signal boost journal to help spread the word - http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8419536/
I hope this will help out, and hoping that you get the funds needed to help fix Rocky ASAP!
