A possibly over-dramatic view of my tail. It's looking very shiny in this picture. Most scales are aluminum, with yellow brass detailing scales.
Note me if you want one of these. Check out my tail ordering guide: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2485549/

I have been thinking of leather, actually. I've never worked with leather before and don't have a supply of it or anything, but I've been thinking, and I think I may be able to produce scales out of various cut-able materials, like leather or plexiglass.
That is, I have access to a laser cutter. (Hooray for being an architecture student.)

Epic tail, think you can ship to an APO address? I would definately be willing to pay $150 for one. APO address is an overseas address for American military (Army Post Office). It actually is cheaper than doing the cheapest international because you only pay for the shipping to whatever stateside post office ships it to the APO, after that it's on the military's dime.
SO funny that I found this today. I want a faun costume for a ren fair and my girlfriend and I have been thinking of stuff for her and when I thought of scaley things I was thinking "I wonder if anyone has done some scale mail to look more reptile-like" and I just got my answer!
Very cool, and impressive. Looks heavy for a weakling like me, but super fun at the same time!
