An art-trade story for
Jimfoxx, about how Ono the Egret Bird ends up in a bit of a predicament after making a bad decision.
This whole thing is based on the episode "Let Sleeping Croc Lie" from season 2, and it was really fun making this alternative version of it.
Jimfoxx also made the icon image of Ono which can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/24958428/
Ono and the rest of the Lion Guard belongs to Disney.
Ono was in a whole lot of trouble right now!
All he had been trying to do was to be helpful when a stampede of Sable Antelopes was running in panic, and his plan for that had been to have them all lead into a dead end canyon so they would stop running.
Unfortunately for him the cave system right underneath the canyon just so happen to be the resting place of Makuu and his whole Float of Crocodiles!
Now the little Egret Bird had a whole bunch of angrily awoken crocodiles to deal with, and there was no chance of them just calmly going back to sleep again!
Being a member of the Lion Guard Ono knew he had to take responsibility for what had been his decisions for his friends to follow, so when Makuu was asking out Kion on who's fault it was Ono had no other choice then to come clean.
Looking down at the little one Makuu gave a pretty smug smile as he suggested, "How about I get to decided what type of punishment would be most fitting for this?", and Ono was lowering his head in shame as he said, "Yes. I feel like that would be most right."
Kion and the others tried to tell Ono that he shouldn't give himself over like this, but Ono insisted that it was like this now because of him, and then only he should be the one to be punished for it.
It was quite the crowd now as both the Antelopes, the Crocodile Float, and the four other members of the Lion Guard was all watching on as Ono was standing face to face with the mighty Makuu.
"You Ono has with your careless thinking caused an Antelope stampede to travel into our resting place, and caused us all to wake up from our "dry season sleep", putting the entire Float's life into jeopardy now!" Makuu said to the small bird, as Ono was just taking all the accusations to heart, as he knew it was all to true.
"I'm ready for whatever punishment that you want to give me." Ono said, while he inside couldn't even start to imagine what a brutal ruler like Makuu could be thinking about.
"I figure that the best thing to do now is to make you an "example" of what happens when you mess with Makuu!" The Crocodile leader said, as he suddenly open up his mighty jaws and came going after Ono!
Ono tried in pure panic to take air and fly away from what was awaiting him, but in one big "SLAM!!!" with the jaws Makuu had ended up capturing Ono inside of him!
There was a complete silence in the air as all of the remaining Lion Guard members was to paralyzed in shock to fully take in what had just happen, and from the Crocs a whole new found type of respect for their though leader was seen.
Even for Ono it took a moment to fully understand what had happen as he had been just about to be airborne in one second, and now he was cramped up together inside what felt like a very dark and slimy cave.
For Makuu this was actually completely unexpected as he had been planning to just grab Ono by the tail feathers and hold him stuck for some time, but his aim had been so bad that he had now taken the whole bird instead!
Looking around he could see the broken looks of Ono's friends, but then he could see how his fellows Crocs was also watching him closely as they knew he was still just holding the Egret resting in his mouth.
During the last few weeks before their planned dry season sleep there had been a few cocky youngsters in the Float that had been talking about Makuu's leadership to not be "Extreme enough", and how especially one Croc named Kiburi had been talking about calling a Mashindano onto him once they wake up again.
Having these rebels starting to really get close on revolting onto him Makuu knew he needed to show that he was indeed just as Rough, Cold-Hearted, and Ruthless like they all expected him to be, so he knew what he needed to do now when being in this situation.
Reaching up his head Makuu swallowed, and they could all witness how a noticeable lump inside was being forced through his throat and down into his stomach area.
Once done Makuu even went so far as to open his jaws up once again, just to show all doubters that there was indeed no more Egret being inside there.
He was just about to say something when Makuu felt some pressure coming up from inside of him, and he let out a bit of a "Burp!" before noticing how a few soggy feathers had come flying out of his mouth.
"As you can all see this is what happens when you try to mess with Makuu and his Crocodile Float!" The mighty Crocodile leader said as he then ordered both the reaming Lion Guard and the Antelope Herd to leave the canyon.
There was no type of fighting spirit in neither Kion or the rest as they all just walked away, accepting that they might never see Ono again.
Once left with his Float one of the many crocodiles asked Makuu if he knew just how they would survive the rest of the dry season when they can't go back to sleep, and Makuu in return said that he was going to find a solution to them.
"I just need to be alone for a few minutes to think." Makuu said as he started to wander down into the underground tunnels again. "And I do NOT want to be disturbed while I am down here!"
What no one else but Makuu knew was that the tunnels were all the Crocodiles was using to rest inside was actually having a secret exit way also, which Makuu used to make himself come back out on the outside of the canyon instead of inside.
Once seeing that he was all alone in the plain open fields Makuu started to make a lot of hawking noises before finally barfing up Ono back onto the ground, now being a much more messy and slimy version of himself.
Gasping for air Ono at first wasn't sure what had happen, but upon seeing the face of Makuu starring back at him it became all to clear!
"S-Step away!" Ono shouted at him as he tried to fly away, but his wings was way to coated in slimy stomach juices to make him lift at the moment.
"Listen. I want to tell you that what happen earlier was a mistake, and...I'm really sorry if I caused you any harm." Makuu said, which made Ono wonder if he was also having problems with his hearing. (Cause did Makuu just apologize for something he did?)
"I wanted to teach you a lesson for what you did, but it was never my intention to have you end up inside of me like that." Makuu said before then trying to joke a little and say, "Besides, we Crocodiles usually are in a lot more need of water then food." but he could clearly see on Ono's still scared face that it wasn't the right time to try be funny.
"Okay, I'll tell you what I need you to do now." Makuu said in a much more serious tone. (Making Ono a lot more clear on taking in everything that the Crocodile who he previously been eating him was saying.)
"I want you to go back to your Lion Guard friends, where you tell Kion that I would want to arrange an emergency meeting with Simba, to ask him if there is any place were he would be able to let me and my Float stay and keep ourselves hydrated during the dry season." Makuu said to Ono, who immediately upon not hearing the big Crocodile tell him anything more quickly said, "A-Affirmative! I-I shall go and T-Tell the others that!"
Ono then tried to wander over on his tiny little legs as quickly as he could when he heard Makuu say, "Oh! And one more thing!"
Turning around to nervously listen to what his recent Predator wanted to know Makuu said, "If you can then please try to stay low once you reach the Lion Guard, and don't let anyone else then them know you are alive. My role as the leader for my Float would be at great risk if they found out I didn't actually eat you."
"O-Okay. I will." Ono said to Makuu, who in return said "Thanks you." before making his way back into the tunnels.
As Ono was now making his walk trip back to Pride Rocks and the group he had a lot of time to try and really understand just what had been happening.
"I wonder what will be hardest for Kion and the rest to believe. That I survived being eaten up, or that Makuu both said "I'm sorry." and "Thank you." to me?" The Egret asked himself as he was trying his best to get all of this Crocodile saliva off from his feathers.
