Thirteen Tales From Dr. Callyco (2017): First Tale
Meanwhile at the castle of Dr. Callyco.
“Ahhhhhhhh ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” The kitten in a lab coat gave a mad laugh. “It’s that time of the year again! Witches fly and demons roam! And kittens spin you tales of terror! Welcome back! It is I Dr. Callyco, feline mad scientist! And my assistant Dr. Cutie Pup!”
“Hi,” the wolf in a lab coat waved as he was introduced.
“This year we have thirteen very special tales,” Dr. Callyco began.
“As opposed to the mundane non-special tales we normally have,” Dr. Cutie Pup replied snidely.
“They’re all special!” Dr. Callyco protested. “These are just ultra super special! For you see this year these won’t just be any old nobodies appearing in our stories! This time these nobodies will be you, the readers!”
“Did you just call our readership nobodies?” Dr. Cutie Pup asked.
“What!?” Dr. Callyco’s ears flattened. “No! That’s not what I meant! I meant the old characters were nobodies! But this time they the reader have the option to be the main character!”
“Ah, so you’re charging our loyal viewership the option to fill in for a nobody part,” Dr. Cutie Pup said with his tongue sticking out.
“Yes exactly!” Dr. Callyco’s ears stood straight up, then immediately flattened again. “Wait I mean no! ARGH! The point is! Let’s move on! Time to meet our first special guests! Dr. Cutie Pup! Produce the envelope!”
“Here you go,” Dr. Cutie Pup said removing an envelope from his lab coat and passing it to the kitten.
“Huh…” The kitten paused as he accepted it. “I expected something more… dramatic. Ah well, let’s get to it.” He opened the envelope and read the piece of paper inside. “It seems our first guest is… One Timothy Ranger, AKA Rangy! He’s a 27 year old iguana and our first victim, erm, volunteer of the year!”
“OH REALLY!?” Dr. Cutie Pup asked with a manic grin. “How’d we sucker this one. Ahem, I mean what kind of wonderful experience do we have for this one?” The wolf’s grin became predatory as he clearly enjoyed some secret joke here.
“For Rangy we bring you our first tale!” Dr. Callyco said. “To get us all started out right, we’re going to have a story about the spirit of Halloween! I mean that in that it will involve an actual literal spirit of Halloween. I can’t promise he is THE spirit of Halloween but he is A spirit! And he’s here to help Rangy have a proper fun Halloween!”
“Ohhhhh I can’t wait for this,” Dr. Cutie Pup said rubbing his hands together.
“Here it is, our first tale,” Dr. Callyco said. “The Tale of the Tiny Cowboy.”

But wait! This year is special! Now it's your turn to be the main character in these stories! What horrific yet adorable transformation awaits you? This is your chance to find out!
As of this posting there are still two slots left open for future stories. They are $10 a piece for anyone who wants them! Perhaps you'll undergo a transformation into a new animal? Regress to a young age? Or maybe shrink a bit in size? Or maybe all three! No way to know what you'll get!
