The Pirates Fate...
Whew, this game...
While I admit it's technically a 'visual novel' with a branching path story with little to no actual 'game-play', the whole thing is simply a delight if you're a fan of anthro's, transformation, and all sorts of physical alterations.
The story...
In a world of wooden ships, pirates, magical lands, and lost treasure, you play as Mila, a young tan furred cat girl who bought a strange necklace with a gold coin in it before setting sail. As the game opens her ship was wrecked in a storm and she's found by a group calling themselves The Dread Pirates. A group consisting of three. Their captain, a brown furred canine named Darious, Morgana a somewhat gruff and dangerous bat female, and Leeko a Corgi canine who used to be a spice merchant and is now the ships cartographer.
As you progress you make decisions that will shape the crew, both figuratively and literally. The quest as Darius explains it, is seeking these magical coins that a powerful wizard once made to shape the world into a better one, but he died before the final part could be completed and the coins scattered across the world. Now the effects of the coins seem to be bringing those destined to unite them together. But each coin also contains powers to change and reshape the holder.
On top of that there are many crew members you can romance and become intimate with. I counted. The game may have 25 endings, but I think it could have as many as 120 romantic pairings.
One final note, there will be choices that cause some characters to die, be betrayed, or simply left behind. So use the many save slots and save often if you don't like how a path has turned out.
All in all I freaking love this game. My only personal gripe is nothing was pushed too far. And I can understand that, this is on Steam where anyone can buy it. So it's not a negative about the game, just a personal disappointment. But seriously, if you like these sorts of things, do yourself a favor and buy the game. It's priced at $20 but just released on sale for $15 (with another $5 gets a prequel comic).
Oh, and did i mention all the characters are illustrated by the amazing volkenfox? ^_^ Seriously, check his stuff out and then guy buy this game if you like it.
