huh... tons of detaill dosen't always = awesomeness... I learned that the hard way... as I got totally pawned when a much better artist showed me how one could achieve an even mroe pwoerfull efect with far less work... SO yeah... this detaill thing is relative.... it depends how it's implemented.
And this is an example where simplicity really shines through. It probably wouldn't have had the same power had it been a fully rendered and textured dragon.
