My best advice is as follows: Nothing looks cheaper than a line with a rounded end.
Anywhere a line comes to an end, it's best to use an eraser to taper it off into a point.

I follow that rule to a fault, and it gets me far.

hm and i rounded edged on this. ill take your advice on the next one and make sure the tips are not rounded. i do see what you mean though.

This is called "tapering your lines". Believe me, the before and after are HUGELY different. The next time I have a large project, I'll make a before and after to show you just how much.
