[DOODLE] Draw some junk.
I really didn’t feel like drawing today, so I figured I’d tackle something simple and different to shake things up.
Of course, at some point, you need pickups, if I’m keeping the video game theme alive. Which I am.
One of the four big ammo types would be scrap or junk. Essentially, random metal bits and boxes. It would replace the typical shotgun ammo. While this stuff does the damage and is easily found, its also a resource most easily consumed in bulk. As a result, it hits that sweet spot of being useful, reliable, but also easily exhausted if used carelessly.
Below are some concept weapon ideas I have in mind.
Hero A:
Essentially the Super Shotgun
Ice Razor, shoots random garbage in a spray of super-cold metal. Inflicts slow, chews through ammo but can clear a room quite well.
Hero B:
Tetanus Rifle, causes enemies to freeze in place sometimes, can be charged, damage is limited but consumption is high.
Jammer, shoots tiny scrap that causes an enemies next attack to fail. Inexpensive, low damage, low status, good fire rate.
Glass Cannon, fires either a spray or burst of sharp fragments, dealing bleed damage. Damage of the hits themselves is negligible.
Hero C:
The Junkano, explodes into a shower of sharp fragmentation on impact.
The Meteor Hammer, Uses molten junk to deliver a fiery blow. Powerful, but too slow for multiple foes.
The Wrecking Ball, throws a huge lump of solid metal at a target. Can be held to function as a revolving shield.
Hero D:
Carbine, long range central attack with mild shotgun blast. Versatile but ammo hungry.
Garbage Compressor, turns a lot of scrap into a single, high velocity shot that chews through enemies. Explodes into small ammo pickups when it hits a wall, as well as fragmentation.
