drum n bass, with FL Studio 8. In this song I had 3 drum layers, each with three slicers as children. it makes the drums sound heavier and more robust. 184 bpm

I use a volume compressor. I turn up the gain really high, and turn down the post-levels down. they all seem to meld together and form one drum set. I also make sure that the children slicers aren't panned out too much.
have you seen my most recent song, "one step at a time"? it's got 7 slicers going on in each layer.

MDA- Loudness, Loudness = -60, and flipping around cut. and cycling loundess around can do some crazy things to drums. I have yet to actually USE this though, but I plan on it soon. Just pointing this out cause it can get some of the same kinds of sounds that you did with the drums and it might be easier to have them with FX than to have duplicate channels. I only use duplicate instruments if I make them play different things at the same time, and through different FX channels.
tips aside, your better at this because you make everything that isn't drums pretty good to.
