The subject of this song is of leaving what's happened behind, not dwelling over the mistakes that you've made, and carrying on with life instead of living in the past. This is presented in a character that keeps an archive of every existing life, even though he can see everything that he regrets recorded in them. To forget about his past, he has to destroy these written memories.

Like I mentioned in the commentary for Reflections, most songs of mine have their basis in events from my life, and this one was more than a little inspired by my decision to delete the diary that I'd kept during my socially disastrous first year of university.

This is the song that's undergone the most major touching-up from its original release, including some instrument changes along with correcting some chords that were wrong before. I also took the opportunity to speed it up a little, as the original version tended to drag a bit.

Taking a bit of inspiration from (dare I say it) Dragonforce's chorus style, this song has a slightly more complex chorus section with two separate "vocal" parts being played simultaneously. But less madly fast.
