I stlll have my Da's two sets which he picked up at the PX in Ankara, Turkey ca. 1957... Loverly trains, though they show signs of being heavily loved. :D

Wow... that's really amazing. That's the kind of sets to put up in a display case and keep protected =^_^= All I have left is a handfull of Scale N cars from the setup my dad and me used to have... oh yes, and one scale Z 1979 VW Rabbit without any distinguishable features that was one of the four coming off the car carrier in one of the train sets we used to have. It were a white one, a yellow one, an orange one and a red one... I have the white one left =^_^=

Well, I still have the locos and cars, though they're missing bits, as well as some vintage '57 track. (sigh) I really should take 'em out for some exercise one of these years.

Awww... yes, that is actually the greatest thing you could do with them; use them what they were used for =^_^= Mmm, perhaps you could set up a small track with the pieces of original rails you have left inside a display case? The best of both worlds! =^_^=

Oh! Yes, that sounds like a very good idea, the cars have little more to do but being pulled, after all, so even if they would be missing parts, they could still be riding the tracks (well, unless the parts missing are the wheels, obviously =~.^=).
