Summary 2017 | Next >>>
2018 has been a good year :^) I'm thankful I could work the last year drawing what I love and simply drawing a lot and I think improving quite a bit! Here's a short breakdown of what I did month by month. Feel free to share what you think!! And even what you liked to see and maybe like to see more of!
January: Royal Meal
That was my absolute peak earlier this year. I poured an unthinkable amount of time into this, all in all three months. Of course I didn't draw all day for three months on that, but still many hours over the course of three months. And I still think it's okay or even one of my better works, but looking back OMG how I flailed around like a noob to get anything done. I had no idea how to sort my layers and how an efficient work process could look like ... a lot of time was wasted because of that. Besides that, I had nearly no practice with different light environments and it shows.
February: Fat Cat in Bed
Well, last year I offered flat colored comms and what used to bother me with them was that they nearly took as much time as my full colored comms. Okay, not nearly as much, but still way too much. Time was lost on meaningless details. That was the first flat colored piece that was quick but still engaging, the missing tidyness wasn't actually something that took away from it, but rather added something, if you ask me.
March: Sphynx Portrait
My first portrait. I ... am still in the process of learning how to paint. And faces are both, (one of) the most important part for the viewer/commissioner and probably the most challenging part to draw. So, doing pics that focus on the face were a necessary task for me. And I think I should (and wanna) do more next year. I'm not where I want to be.
April: Sharing is Caring
I hosted my first raffle!! Not much to say there, it was much fun, I'll probably keep doing them in the future! Especially if it means that your and my characters can interact :^)
May: Raeth Portrait
That was a later portrait, after I've already drawn a few. And I think it's still one of the best. It is probably the most three-dimensional face I have drawn so far? And on a very small scale, it shows my fetish for a secondary lightsource from the back ... uhm. More divercity next year?
June: Looking for Trouble?
That one was one of those drawing where I noticed what I liked and what not ... Here it's the suggestion of a background? Not really there in every detail, but enough to look good. It's a nice in-between that I like to replicate more often. And it was a step towards the Cake/Cookie tier commissions I have going now.
July: The Cupcake
My Delicious Yoga series! They were all so silly and fun and I hope to draw some more in the future. Btw, there's still one open slot here. I'm so curious if someone who's interested finds this link, hahaha.
August: Benefits
Comic!!! AHHHHH I mean AHHHHH. I never did so many drawings in such a short time. In my memory it feels like I drew 30+ pages in 14 days, but my folders and WIPs paint a picture of 30 pages of comics in 6 weeks. Still a lot, huh? Anyway, my first furry erotica comic, yeay, hopefully not my last!!
September: On his Way Home
That's the time I started my Cookie and Cake tiers and so far, I think it was a good decision for the way I work. It gives me a certain amount of artistic freedom, while still being able to offer distinctly different comms, if you know what I mean? This one was the first cake, I think? Or one of the first fews and yeah, it came out nicely. I still like it.
October: Royal Burr
Like the Cakes comms I offered, this one was also a piece with which I pushed myself, really poured efford into certain aspects. It's usually lighting and volumen, and here it has been fabrics and folds especially.
November: Nostalgic Feels
That one I also still like a lot, because it was just born without thinking, just out of a mood. And it wasn't a comm, it wasn't there to please anyone but myself and that is so very nice. I love drawing for you guys, I am a very lucky guy to be able to do that, but every once in a while it's so nice to tend to my own characters :^) And these are some old ones, they are close to my heart and yeah. I am happy to have them here, even as furries in my online gallery, haha.
December: Look at that Cookie Annihilator
That one I picked as a comparison for the January piece. What do you think?? On one hand I felt like improving constantly for most of the last 12 months, but then in the end ... it doesn't look like much of a difference, does it? XD I don't know. I'm not mad or sad about it, rather surprised and puzzled. I wonder what I'll think at the end of next year when I look at this again ...
Well ... that's it. And all that's left to say for this year: Cheers to a great 2019!!

It was the best one I did in June :^D And it's always fun working with you (and your shapeshifting fox)!!
Thank you :^) I can't believe I've been here for only a year and a half, it does feel so much more familiar than that!! But then again, 2018 was over so fast ... I'm looking forward to this year and all the chubby furs I'll draw!! :^D
