They actually have no scales so his skin would be quite soft. They have pores.

Holy shit! He's awesome. I love the punk rock look and using his fin like a mohawk is a great idea. I just look up the Lancetfish and they are cool, I love how they can completely fold down their fins like a sailfish. They almost look like eels! I love how prehistoric they look with their fangs. They also have really cool colors on their fins. Very reflective scales! I love the ocean and i've learned about this kind of stuff for 20 years and i can't believe I have never heard of these before. Thank you for teaching me something new today! Great work!
