When Thor's mother went into labor at home 12 years ago, Thor was only 4. He didn't understand everything that was going on much less anything he saw happen on the bathroom floor. His stepfather was in control of the situation, having rushed home to help, doing the best he could to keep Thor from getting an eyeful and failing. Now Thor doesn't remember any of it, it was so long ago. He just remembers the time recorded on the birth certificates.

Back then, in that bathroom, Thor's mother delivered fraternal twins. In a long 4 hour stretch, first came his half-sister Lyra, displaying a healthy set of lungs for a Pichu in her first breaths. Surge came a half hour later in the breech position and as a result he was harder to deliver. There was nothing their mother could have felt happier about than having new additions to her family. But she didn't know what the future held.

Surge was fairly nice at first as he grew. Then they noticed soemthing amiss. First it was a series of ear infections, then it was his slow growth of verbal skills that resulted from the ear infections. And the slow growth of an attitude around his teachers...at the same time that his father started becoming gradually more unsettled every year...
