When Thor's mother went into labor at home 12 years ago, Thor was only 4. He didn't understand everything that was going on much less anything he saw happen on the bathroom floor. His stepfather was in control of the situation, having rushed home to help, doing the best he could to keep Thor from getting an eyeful and failing. Now Thor doesn't remember any of it, it was so long ago. He just remembers the time recorded on the birth certificates.

Back then, in that bathroom, Thor's mother delivered fraternal twins. In a long 4 hour stretch, Lyra was the first to be born. Her first act in her life was to display a very healthy set of lungs in loud complaint at having her Pichu bottom slapped. Half an hour later her twin brother was born breech.

Lyra grew calm and quiet for the first months of her life with a normal development cycle as compared with her brother who got stalled by ear infections that stunted his development of speech by a year. By the time she was saying her first words her twin brother was still using made-up gibberish words. She grew fast and Surge grew jealous. It got to the point that her twin brother did what he could to bully her, and often. Pretty soon she developed a way to fight back, she would throw a tantrum and wail on him. This behavior eventually calmed down into sibling rivalry and play fighting, with occasional bullying against her.
