The next day was a long one, spent mostly in trying to track down their help. Liane seemed none the worse for her fainting spell and the two girls searched high and low, asking everyone they saw if they'd seen their foreman or any of their laborers. But they came up empty pawed at the end of the day.
A late afternoon return to the crypt showed the sarcophagus still empty and standing just as they had last seen it, so they called it a day. They were both bushed from all the searching and talking to people.

That night, after a light supper, they put out the light and lay down together. Surprisingly enough, both fell asleep almost immediately. Both Liane and Jessamine had strange dreams. Frightening dreams, which when they woke up in the morning, they would relate to each other. That is, of course, IF they woke up in the morning.
