Definitely did a lot more attacks then defences but i love doing icons so thats ok

That's been my experience as well. It's fun branching out a bit for a month, though; draw some unusual stuff. No shortage of odd and interesting characters on there.

The thing that annoys me most is that I still have had no reply whatsoever to some of my attacks. Hadn't had that happen last year, but this year I've had it 5 or 6 times. At least I did find out that you actually get points for including your own characters as well, so I may just have to do more of that next year.
