Just a new drawing of my character, Mao, that I don't think sucks balls.
This picture is going to have several versions, this one, one with clothes and another that will be done non-anthro for a DnD game I might be in.
For now though this would be my character, sans naughty bits. I didn't want to draw them on simply because it didn't matter to me and that section was going to get drawn over anyway when I add the clothes.
For those who are curious he was modeled after a character by
missmab , named Boko, who is what she called a Nictarl. Unfortunately she never really defined what the heck that is, so for all other intents and purposes he's a cabbit (lion and long-eared hare mix) until she finally tells me what the heck Nictarl are. *stares at missmab*
His base fur color is white with the markings being black, for those who are wondering.
He very rarely appears to have his eyes open, but when he does they're red. He doesn't need his eyes to see though, so he doesn't bother.
Usually he's portrayed as a monk type character, or something similar.
Outfit is flexible as he'll wear whatever is comfortable, though he probably wouldn't choose anything too flashy.

I really.. really like this (and no, not because of the lack of clothes XP) the subtle lines seem to bring about definition without it being way over done ^^ His fist is cool, his hair is super-cool, and his expression/posture is just awesome, can't wait to see what you do with the clothes! \o/ Great job Mao!
Thanks. That said, I'm finding that many of my peers seem to favor this look for their hero's/characters. I may tone him down even further to the point of being scrawny.
Every character I see these days is either a massive, muscled, power house or some obscenely powerful fellow with a body that looks like it could pass for anorexic. I'd like to try and avoid those stereotypical hero arch types. I don't want the character Mao to be a hero. I want him to merely observe the heroes at work, and to play his part, even if that part is to just be there. I'm not entirely sure that makes sense.
I guess I just want him to be a part of something greater than himself, but to still be a character that others can relate to. I want him to have a happy ending. So in many ways, I hope to avoid having him ever be the hero.
