Neira's life can best be described as, "No seriously, draw me a flowchart. Please."

So I'll spare you the details and simply tell you this: both of her parents hated foreigners, one of them was a nomadic native who died of a serious illness (her mother, an Urshilaku Ashlander named Daunissi) and the other is a member of what is essentially the mafia of Morrowind (Tedryn Brenur, a drillmaster of the Camonna Tong). Neira, however, was far too soft and friendly to really be as bitter as her mother or as brutal as her father and, as such, has fallen out with both sides of her family. She's pretty okay with that, though, because she's too busy with her own thing to be bothered with family reunions.

After all, she is the premiere vampire hunter in Vvardenfell... or, at least that's what she'll tell you.

Neira is a lot of ambition, and very little substance. Her concern for others is her only motivation, but often times this isn't enough. She's a bit of a laughing stock amongst certain vampire clans for her tendency to race into their dens, scream the second somebody notices her, and run back out. The only time she seems to pose a threat is when she's trying to rescue somebody (she couldn't live with herself if she let them die) or when she's cornered and has no other option. Considering the fact that she is very skilled when it comes to a sword, it's likely she behaves this way due to a lack of confidence.

She is also painfully gullible. Neira is a very trusting person who believes everyone is good at heart, so no matter how terrible the reputation she will be friendly, smile, and do everything in her power to help them. This has led to her sometimes believing the wrong person and doing more harm than good, unintentionally of course.

Also, once you get her talking, good luck getting her to shut up. The girl can talk a mile a minute, and she's pretty sure you want to hear every opinion she has, or every little detail of her life up to this point...
