On a nice warm day the best thing to do is laying under an old tree, doing nothing, enjoying the sunset and the slight breeze. The image protrays a cheetaan and a tami dragon, his "steed", having a day "off".
These dragons are rather like wyverns or bats, they have no front legs nevertheless they can move around well on ground or climb complementing their rear legs with the clawed paws on their wings. They may also use their rear legs to grab and fly off with some small prey, but their primary weapon is a focusable impulse laser which they use like traditional dragons their breath.
Even though the cheetaan and the dragon has a common ancestor they are in fight, the majority of the dragons come to the north pole (where the cheetaans and wolves live) to hunt which involves pratically anything what moves. Without protection against them it would be impossible to maintain a city, and that's what the dragonriders are for: they are the air-force of cheetaan.
The bond between a "tamed" dragon and a cheetaan is unlike human - animal bonds: the cheetaan doesn't own the dragon he rides. He is on his own, and may even leave to fly with his own kind from times to times (If they didn't, they would die due to genetical degradation). When they are in the air together the rider's role is to lead him, to do the strategical thinking what the dragon accepts. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to work together effectively since in the nature they have no mission: they don't need to protect a city. When they ride "off duty", the cheetaan on the back may even leave him just going where he wishes.

This image was previously called Happy Spring! for that it was inspired after the oncoming spring. I replaced that due to the crap quality of the scan. Well, what 46 euros difference mean: This scan was made by the scanner I salvaged from scrapping for 4 euros (the first attempt) while that one by a new scanner which cost 50 euros (the third attempt). Neither was misused in any way.
