The sunflower is there was the counter part to the bee, found in Ancient Near East and Aegean cultures, was believed to be the sacred insect that bridged the natural world to the underworld....much like amanita muscaria / fly allergic mushroom[/b we see here venerated in Siberian shamanic practices ...that eventual came down the Austrian/German/barbarian traditions with the common theme of [b]forest gods / elevated shamans which is mirrored in the ancient Celtic Cernunnos. Cernunnos who has antlers on his head....mimicing the tree of life or wold tree, so it is fitting that they would sprout leaves. ...and i wont even get into the mythical significance of the rose
