Kamots and the Serval
Kamots is one of those fellows who has a lot of interesting things happen to them including getting slapped around with a dead frog by a wolf, and a live serval perching on his head. Those of you who attended FWA, he was one of the fine gentlemen minding the room with the live baby servals that were oozing with cuteness.
This a birthday present commissioned by Kamots' wife during FWA. It was a blast to draw and he loved the finished product.

Gen, where did you learn to draw hands/paws? Is there a tutorial out there somewhere that you could point me to? Your hands look really good, and I'm jealous of your ability to draw them at widely different angles and still keep them looking properly-proportioned (case in point--the left paw here where most of the fingers are pointed directly at the viewer).
Most of the time when I draw hands/paws, I end up drawing them too small, so I have to force myself to draw them with that 'too big' feeling so that I can get them closer to being right.

I hate how I draw hands, honestly. I feel like I draw these huge meat hands with bent up fingers.Usually I just try to pose my own hands and eyeball it, or else reference one of my numerous books like Hogarth's "Drawing Dynamic Hands" or web pages like this: http://www.elfwood.com/farp/hand/
Hi Genesis!
While I might be tardy in my comment to your beautiful artwork, I had to say that I really enjoyed seeing you work on this particular piece back at FWA in March. :)
As well, thanks so much for alerting me to Kamots and Grym at the con! Heheh. That was the best surprise ever, to finally meet the two after so many years! Eeeeeee! It was absolutely wonderful and fantastic! I was so much overjoyed that convention!
It was also a pleasure to meet you too! It was wonderful to chat with you!
Thank you again for that cute artwork!

You know, I was literally just thinking of you guys today! I'm gearing up for my big gaming marathon for BCR in about two weeks and remembered the critters you helped care for as well along with that weekend. I do hope to come back one of these days, but if you're ever in Orlando let me know and I'll do what I can to show you folks a fun time as well :)
