I was just shown the Thursday Prompt exercise that writers are encouraged to participate in by
poetigress
Here is my first submission in participation to this. It's very short but I was surprised at what I was able to come up with.
=====================================================
“He conjured this storm up to stop us from finding him!” cried the helmsman over the waves that crashed loudly against the ship.
“Don’t be superstitious, Peters. We will find him.”
The captain of this ship was a coyote with a muzzle scarred with claw marks in such a way that he appeared to have a permanent sneer on the right side of his muzzle. He was a mean old bastard, very determined and fearless. Some of his crew believed him to be insane or obsessed.
He only referred to their quarry as ‘The Ship’ and nothing more. Rumors had sprouted about the ship’s captain being possessed by a demon and that’s what had caused the captain, who was once held in high esteem by the entire fleet and country of Prowen, to become a rogue. His leavings were often gruesome and all who gave chase stopped upon their first encounters with his victims.
“We will find him. We will kill him. He will suffer!”
The captain forced his crew to yell and chant and sing that phrase over and over, again and again to make them more vicious. It worked with most of them. Despite his obsessions and his demeanor, the Captain had inspired his crew. They wanted retribution.

Did I hear (literally) right? You said The Dark Tower helped inspire this short, yet well written piece? If that is true then i know you have alot more story here to share with us. I don't know if you are considering it or not, but this would make a very nice story to run with for a few Chapters. Hell, you can even put it alongside my 'Howl Of The Wolf' collection if you wanted too. I know I would be honoured to have such a story as this join the others. But that's your call.
Nice little insightful story here. Hope to see more.

Thank you very much for your very kind comment. I'm very flattered and as far as future chapters go, I'm still brain storming a bit on that. This came to me very quickly while doing a writing exercise. It was very fun to write and picture to say the least and I'm glad you found it so enjoyable.
Any time, my friend. Just remember that sometimes the shortest stories that come spur of the moemnt sometimes turn into the biggest thing you've ever written. If it's a good idea, others are interested in it, and you can plough forward with it, then by all means...give it life. The only thing you may lose is some storage space on your computer.
