I wanted to give Mona a bit of a Steam Punk look... but, I failed a bit. She needs more details of the mechanical nature and possibly some grime, though she could always just be pretty clean. Ideas would be appreciated.
For those that knew I was gone for a while, I'm back for now. There will be another short trip sometime, though. I'll let people know when that comes up. ^_^

I agree about the accessories thing, but she doesn't need to look like she got covered in glue and dipped in a vat of gears which seems to be what many people see steampunk as being. I think you did a great job on her outfit! As a casual steampunk myself, this would be something I would wear on a daily basis, and there's nothing wrong with that. Also, you avoided the goggles- well done! You don't need to have goggles and tons of weapons to be steampunk. The main thing I would change is the color scheme. I LOVE the brown, but you could use other colors, too and it might make the outfit more aesthetically pleasing. Also, lace and maybe more patterns (pinstripes ftw!). Here are some of my (less casual) outfits and weaponry if you're interested, although none of them could pass as mechanic's clothes! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3807842/
I LOVE the outfits. Would you mind me using your photos as references for accessory ideas? I saw a few things I would like to incorporate.
Also, thank you very much for such a descriptive comment. I was looking more into her being casual, but perhaps dressing up a bit (accessory wise) when she goes out to help for something such as a contest or any job where she's in the public eye. I'm also thinking of either changing the character Mona totally to steam punk or perhaps a whole new character. I'm leaning to a new character, or perhaps making one of the ones I haven't drawn, but have named and picked a species for into the steam punk style... perhaps my Black and Tan coonhound girl? http://puppydogweb.com/gallery/blac.....dtan_borwn.jpg
She might be too much.. the black and tan with the bronze/browns common in steam punk.. If you have an opinion on that, I'd love to hear it. ^_^

Yeah you can use whatever you like! Also, check out
nauv's father's website, he has some cool stuff as well. Here's the link: http://neverwashaul.com/
The cooncound is so pretty! She would make a great steampunk character!

Actually, I was going to say that there's quite a bit of black on her and that can become a pain to draw (for you and others). I learned that during my 100 sketch challenge. I got SO many black characters, I had to start coloring the sketches in photoshop instead of in pencil.
